Embracing Your Passion!
SITUATED ON TOP OF A HILL off I-75, Gainesville Harley-Davidson & Buell is North Central Florida’s largest Harley- Davidson and Buell dealership. When it comes to success stories it does not get much better that this. Owners Gail and Ray Lytle opened in 1993, with a small store front and big dreams. With the family’s hard work it has since grown to a 27,000-square-foot dealership with around 32 employees, including the Lytle’s sons Kevin and Paul. Kevin is the service manager and Paul is the parts manager.
Since the doors opened the Lytle’s created a family-like atmosphere with their employees, perhaps because the business was always run with family in mind. After Ray Lytle passed away in 2001, Gail continued to run the business with the help of her staff, who she feels are more like her family. “I couldn’t do this with out them. My employees are really more than just my staff; they are my friends and family. They are the people I depend on.”
“The family atmosphere doesn’t end at our employees, we try to extend that to our customers as well. Some of my very good friends now, started off as my customers.” Paul Lytle adds.
For seven years, Gainesville Harley- Davidson & Buell has received the coveted Bar and Shield Award from Harley-Davidson Motor Company for outstanding performance which shows their commitment to the customer and the company name. This award is given out annually to the top 25 top dealerships that have exhibited outstanding performance. Customer service is a big part of earning the award.
Gainesville Harley-Davidson & Buell focuses so much on being customer- friendly and making the experience pleasant that they have people come from all over the state to either purchase a motorcycle, accessories, or get their motorcycle serviced at the dealership.
The company is well-known for their commitment to community causes such as the Shands Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Miracle Network, Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs of Alachua County, Alachua County Humane Society, Fishing for Success Community Fishing Pond, Gainesville Advertising Federation ADDY Awards, Horses Helping People, Military Support Group for Alachua County, and others.
“This community has been so very good to me and to this business, and it’s nice to be able to give back,” Gail said. This March 29th through the 31st, Gainesville Harley will host the 5th Annual Rock N’ Wheels Event at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park and Campground. This year’s event will include a Memorial Ride for Gail’s husband and Gainesville Harley Co- Founder Ray Lytle, a charity poker run, bands, parties and much more.
After 13 years of business, the Lytle’s are more excited than ever to continue the passion of loving motorcycles and valuing good old-fashioned hard work and great customer service.
