With an existing store in Ocala, Owners Chad and April O’Cull are proud to announce the opening of their new showroom on Southwest Archer Road in Gainesville this August. A truly unique and family owned business, Cribs2College was “born” with a baby. When the O’Culls had their baby, Aubrey, in 2004, they couldn’t find the crib and furniture they wanted locally. Once they found the manufacturers that fit the high standards they had for their own children, they decided to start their own business.
According to Chad, “We saw a need since no one else in the area was offering these lines, so we decided to share the exciting things we found with others. Locally, you can only find the Baby’s Dream line of cribs that convert to full beds at our two stores. We constantly strive to grow and improve by closely interacting with our customers to determine how we can best meet their needs. Our business philosophy is simple: ‘Offer the best customer service and finest quality merchandise for the greatest possible value.’”
Why does furniture need to adapt to children? Well, it’s much easier than getting children to adapt to their furniture. Cribs2College's unique all solid wood cribs convert easily into a toddler bed then fullsize adult bed, easing your child’s transition out of the crib. “Generation Next,” by Baby’s Dream also accommodates the deepest mattress in the industry, allowing your baby to stay in the crib longer. You can choose from either stationery or a patented and quietly smooth drop gate design. The gate’s mechanism is beveled to prevent finger pinching and requires both handles be engaged at the same time to open or close—only possible for adult size arms and hands to reach. Cribs come with everything you need for the transition to toddler bed. Metal or wood rails are available for the transition to a full bed. A wide range of styles will suit your décor like French sleigh bed, traditional, and rustic, and all come with a 15 year warranty.

If you’re a Gator fan, Cribs2College has exclusive rights to the NCAA licensed, University of Florida Gators football twin bed. This fun and unique bed is for people of all ages. It has a space for storage underneath and a wooden shelf between the helmets that hold books (for study) and an alarm clock (to get to class on time). It was designed with careful consideration for safety and durability. Other Gator accessories and decorative items will help complete that baby Gator room or full dorm look.
Since you can’t supervise kids 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, quality, durability, and safety are a hallmark of Cribs2College’s inventory. In fact, all furniture is made of exceptionally high quality materials and solid woods like pine, birch, maple, and cherry and available in a variety of finishes, depending on the manufacturer. All products are designed to meet the highest voluntary and mandatory safety standards set forth by the Consumer Product and Safety Commission (CPSC) and the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM). Gainesville attorney and current Circuit Judge Candidate, Stan Griffis, and his wife Jennifer are regular customers. Many popular lines of baby and youth bedding, linens, and super soft blankets can grace your new beds as well. Chad and April’s two children Aleah, 8, Aubrey, now, 2, (and baby #3 on the way) are not only the family’s inspiration but help keep them in touch with what’s new, innovative, and important in their industry. According to April, “The girls are very comfortable in the showrooms. They like to come in and field test new things or just take a nap. This is their playground.” Another family member, Linda Fulford, April’s mother, works with April at the Ocala store. Chad plans to man the new Gainesville store.
