Letter from the Publisher
AS WARM WEATHER APPROACHES, and the Dogwoods and Azaleas bloom, we are reminded of how life is a cycle of change and a blessing. It’s it beautiful?
In watching a recent film where a young soldier gives his life for our country, I am reminded of sacrifice, sacrifice so others can enjoy the freedoms of our country. Regardless of the sense or lack of sense related to war, to those who have served, and are serving our county today, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks. Thank you does not really capture the appreciation I feel. I thought of waiting until Veteran’s day to say this, but why wait? I want you to know today, I, and many others like me, are so proud of you.
By the time this magazine is out, the Spring Arts Festival will be over, but I wanted to share the pride I feel for my 18 year old daughter who was selected to sell her home created jewelry in the show. With significant planning, work and focus, she made each piece, bought a display tent on line, and even obtained the ability to process credit cards in time to be ready for the show. With a Father’s pride, I enjoy watching her mature and grow within this wonderful community.
Entrapeuneal spirit is what our cover customer demonstrates as Mid-Fla Heating and Air continues to mature and evolve. As a second time cover customer of Gainesville Today, we can say with confidence that this company is here to deliver. Congratulations to Kevin Lyons and his team for ongoing success and quality service to our community.
The Spring Parade of Homes is always a wonderful way to see the latest in creative design as our area builders showcase their various innovations. As a long time Gainesville resident, I know first hand how lucky we are to have the standard of living in North Central Florida that we enjoy. We just have a great place to live, and work and play.
As our blessings are many, we highlight this month in our people helping people section the BANCF as they build for the Habitat for Humanity program, and Phil Snyder, a special man who contributes so much time and effort to the Special Olympics.
Enjoy the magazine and thanks so much for the kind e-mails from our readers about what you enjoy. They make our day and the team’s hard work worth it!
Till next month, Go Gators!
