Charlie Delatorre Owner of Tower Publications
BEHIND CHARLIE Delatorre's youthful exuberance hides a successful and shrewd CEO's wisdom as the owner of Tower Publications. Only 33, Charlie owns a small publishing empire in Gainesville and with a growing staff, Tower Publications continues to put out quality products.
Early in 2000, he bought the Buyer's Guide. Soon he began thinking of other ways he could grow his company. Even at such a young age, he understood the market and wisely chose to target a growing segment of the population. In October of 2000, he started Senior Times, a monthly magazine for the 55 plus age group, in Alachua County . By the next year he expanded the magazine's circulation to include Marion County, and today this monthly magazine reaches over 50,000 readers and continues to grow.
Charlie Delatorre did not rest there. When the Buy-Rite Coupon book became available for sale in August of 2003, Charlie added it to his stable of publications. He also became the owner of NCA, a national classified advertising agency.
Along with his dedication to Tower Publications, Charlie serves on several boards in the community, such as the High Springs Chamber of Commerce. With his involvement in area activities he saw a need to dedicate a quarterly publication to the growing northwest area of Alachua County . In late 2003, Tower Publications began publishing the High Springs/Alachua Magazine promoting the beauty and lifestyle of these two towns.
Not only does Tower Publications continue to grow, but Charlie and his wife Bonita, have been growing a family as well. Pictures of Bonita and their two children, daughter Lauren, 5, and son Charlie, 2, grace his wall and shelves in his office.
