2005 Spring Parade

of Homes, Gainesville, FL of Homes

FOR THE PAST YEAR, members of the Builders Association of North Central Florida (BANCF) planned, developed, and worked together to showcase the latest in home building and neighborhood design in our community. The 47th Annual Parade of Homes™, sponsored by BANCF, opens on April 16th and will run through April 24th. “We are proud to show off the local housing industry to the community each year during the Parade. Many BANCF members contribute to the success of this popular event. The Parade of Homes is most certainly a joint effort,” said Margie Krpan, BANCF Deputy Executive Vice President.

With forty-four beautiful homes in twelve different neighborhoods throughout Alachua County, parade visitors will not only find a variety of home design and décor, but also the newest in land design and neighborhood development. The Parade of Homes neighborhoods include Belmont, Eloise Gardens, Haile Plantation, Longleaf Village, Madera, Meadowbrook Ridge, Meadows of Kanapaha, Portofino, Town of Tioga, Turkey Creek, Turnberry Lake, and Wilds Plantation.

Housing is, by far, the most important single asset on the household balance sheet. At 31 percent, housing accounts for the largest portion of total household wealth in the United States. The market value of homes owned by U.S. households now stands at more than $15 trillion. This marks an increase of 50 percent over the past 5 years, reflecting a large volume of housing production as well as solid rates of house price appreciation. It accounted for nearly 30 percent of total household assets at the end of last year. The pro- duction of housing and the value of housing services produced by the housing stock account for about 14% of the nation’s Gross National Product. In past years while other sectors were struggling and even collapsing into recession, housing remained one of the few bright lights in the economy.

On April 16th, the local economy will shine a little brighter with the opening of the 2005 Parade of Homes ™ . Hours are 1pm to 5pm both weekends and open 5pm to 7pm during the week. A Parade Book with floor plans, renderings, and a map to all locations will be published in the April 16th Gainesville Sun. Additional parade books will be available at each of the 12 sites.

Tickets are $5.00 per person with children under 12 free. For more information, contact the Builders Association at (352) 372-5649 or visit their website at www.bancf.com. G
