Shopping becomes frantic at this time of year and we hope you will use our Gainesville Today magazine as a guide for ideas with your holiday shopping this year. Carry it with you, as many of our advertisers have great specials and great new stock in place for the season. Every store or service advertised in Gainesville Today is dedicated to quality service.
Check out the new features of our website as we continue to add to it. Send a holiday card via our site for free. Check out our new live Web camera, showing the University and UF stadium. Drop us a note with a suggestion for a story, or charity you want us to consider featuring.
Taking time to enjoy family and friends is one of the most special parts of the holiday season. We hope that you are able to take time to relax, slow down, and enjoy.
Hope for the Holidays is our featured charity this month. Hope happens, when help happens. We admire and feel honored each and every month to highlight the kindness shared by those who take their time to improve the quality of lives for others. Go Gators...Swimming and Diving...Wow! The athletic department has so much to be proud of at UF. We would like to thank them, and David Greenberg, for sharing those stories with us each month.
Melrose... we love Melrose... a short drive and well worth it. Dine at the re-built Blue Water Bay (they have some of the best fried shrimp you’ve tasted, we promise). Then enjoy a stroll to the Art Gallery where this month, our friend Jim Santangelo, displays his photography from his travels, along with other area artists.
For those new to Gainesville: holidays at the Hippodrome are traditions. Read about the return of two favorite plays this year.
We love this town... and we wish you and your families a very happy holiday season. We also wish you special times to enjoy this community, as we think it’s the best place in the world to live and work.
Spirit, regardless of faith, sharing, being loving, and making an impact for the benefit of others is what our community is so strong in doing. We are proud to be a part of it. This year was filled with change for us and we look forward to beginning 2004 with a renewed energy, hope and desire to bring you the very best of our town.
Until next year,
