Letter from the Editor

Welcome to Gainesville Today!

This is our fourth consecutive year of the August Women Who Make a Difference issue.

The staff and I have chosen three outstanding women who are making big differences in our community. Their stories can be found beginning on page 11. Congratulations to each of these ladies for being selected and thank you for working so hard and contributing so much.

Continuing with the theme is several other articles about women and the business’ they own and operate. One of my favorites is Fightin’ Lady Gators about a friend of mine who has overcome tremendous pain to discover a hidden talent and produce some very unique Gator art. I’ve got to tell you that the pictures in the story do not do her work justice. Her art is the type you really need to see and feel. I had to buy a couple of her pieces myself.

Our story about Exceptional Dentistry entitled Not Your Father’s Dentist is another must see. Dr’s Art and Kimberley Mowery have just moved into their new facility on Newberry Road and it is Dynamite. It is almost futuristic. They have introduced us to the new concepts, techniques and equipment in modern dentistry. You’ve got to like it when you can watch a flat screen television or go to sleep while the doctor is fixing your mouth.

I wish I could talk about every woman related article in the book, but you’ll just have to read for yourself, they’re good.
Thank you ladies for contributing to the magazine and good luck.

And thank you readers for picking up this month’s issue of Gainesville Today. Please, after you have read the stories, do not hesitate to call the advertisers and let them know you saw them here. We appreciate your business and so do they.

Until next month!

Respectfully yours,
